A little bit of all sorts this week – some painting, some building. Be warned, it’s a biggie!
I spent a bit of time at the tail end of last week tidying up my Eldar – I’ve begun basing my Farseer and his Warlock bodyguard:

I’ve also gotten a couple of marginally better shots of the freehand detail on his cloak:

And here are his Warlocks:

And a shot of the freehand runes on their cloaks (which are cunningly disguised way for me to remember which powers they have! (hint: turn your head sideways and the runes might make a little more sense – E for Enhance, D for Destructor and N for no power!)

Next up, I started the final stages on the transports in the army – a Falcon and two Wave Serpents:

I also dug out the second set of Space Hulk that I bought and build up the rest of the Terminators from that. After a bit of deliberation, I decided to Dark Angel them up a bit and add them to the Dark Vengeance set, so that I can have a small force of proper Dark Angels.
First up, the whole squad, consisting of a Sergeant with Lightning Claws and one Terminator with Assault Cannon:

And some closeups. Nothing really special involved, other than scraping off all the blood drops and replacing them with Dark Angel symbols where needed:

And just in case a Sergeant with Lightning Claws isn’t legal in the 6th Edition Dark Angels Codex, here’s a standard sergeant for them, which I converted using a spare Assault on Black Reach Terminator and a Dark Angels sword I had:

Keeping with the Dark Angels theme (and because I’m not overly keen on the Sergeant which comes with the Dark Vengeance box, I converted up a replacement, using some Dark Angel pieces and a Black Templars tabard front:

I had a second spare Terminator which came with White Dwarf at the advent of 5th Edition, and since I also had a spare Cyclone Missile Launcher, this one was a no-brainer:
I’ve always wanted a Lysander stand-in for my Redeemers, and the spare Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield armed Sergeant from Space Hulk makes for a perfect substitute:

I’ve yet to create a suitable background and name for him yet though!
I’ll also be adding to the size of the Chaos force from Dark Vengeance using my existing models – although I’ve got an 8 man unit of Chaos Marines knocking around who need their numbers bulking out, so that’s where these guys come in – proper kitbashing here – some Chaos Warrior bits, combined with Space Marine and Chaos Space Marine bits. The Brotherhood of Iron aren’t fussy when it comes to their recruits!

Finally, I dug out a few spare bits for another project I have in the pipeline – 6th Edition allows some allies, and well, I’ve got some scores to settle – a ‘vendetta’, if you will 😉 :
