Brushwork – Saturday 28th December

Fusiliers and Remotes - click to enlarge

I’ve been preparing for 2014 by painting up the last of my Infinity models that aren’t complete yet – I’m down to a single figure left unpainted, the Chandra Spec Ops Thrasymedes. I’m aiming to have him finished in the next week or so, and then I’ll be concentrating on a couple of commission jobs for a couple of friends. I’ll also be building and painting up the final unit for the tournament I’m attending at the end of January, which I’ll detail in a future post.

In the light tent this week are the pair of PanOceanian Dire Foes models plus a pair of Remotes that I’ve finally completed. First up, it’s the Mulebots, one is equipped with a Combi Rifle while the other carries an EVO Repeater, although for the purposes of games they’re fairly interchangeable in what they do, so what the model is actually built with doesn’t matter too much to me:

Next up, the pair of inseparable Fusiliers, Angus and Bipandra. For those who aren’t familiar with Infinity, Angus and Bipandra are often referenced in the rule examples in the rulebook, and it’s nice to finally see miniatures of them. Angus is treated as a Civilian in the Dire Foes mission that comes with their boxed set, and I doubt I’ll have much use for him other than in that mission, although he might make a nice substitute in any YAMS games I play in the future:

Here’s Bipandra, who in the background is of Indian heritage, and so I wanted her skin tone to look suitably Indian, which I think I’ve achieved here:

Although I’ve moved away from her official colours with my model, I still wanted to remain true to her background, and so I kept her purple hair on my model. I actually like it a lot – it’s more interesting than a more natural colour.

Lastly, here’s a group shot of the two Fusiliers and the two Remotes:

I’m looking forward to using these for my future games! I’ve already used the Remotes once, and they opened up a whole bucket of opportunities I’d never even contemplated before, what with them acting as ‘wifi boosters’ (or ‘Repeaters’ in Infinity vernacular) to extend the range of my Hackers – that allowed me to use Anti-hacker Protocols against a horrible Skiavoro which was pinning my forces down!

  1. Great job as usual Leeman 🙂
Especially like the bots and Bopendra. Her face and especially the eyes are really good. Hoping to get some painting and scenery building time in over the holiday period. Hope you had a great Xmas and wishing you a great New Year
