The Spring Challenge is tomorrow (or today for some of the participants, although I’m unable to attend both days of the event) and I’m pretty much done with my preparations. I’ve varnished the Sophotect, Yudbot and Netrod ready for the inevitable knocks they’re likely to take tomorrow at the event!

I’ll detail a bit more about them in an aftermath post which I’ll make on Monday.
In terms of what’s coming up in the next few weeks, I’ve acquired a fair few more models in addition to the Marut and remaining Netrods/Yudbot/Posthumans. I’ve already completed one of the posthumans, which you can see below. She shares the same colour scheme as my Devas.

Given that my regular opponents and I are tacking Paradiso missions after the tournament, I figured I’d expand my PanO a little more with the addition of a Machinist. Nowadays he’s only available as part of the Support Pack, but since I already own 3 out of the 4 miniatures from that box, I didn’t want to have to buy the whole thing. Luckily, Arcane Miniatures still had an old single blister version of this model, so I snapped it up pretty quickly.
The model itself is derided by the community at large, something which I personally feel is undeserved. The posing of the model, plus the photography and age of the paint job really don’t help this miniature out a lot. It’s actually a difficult model to photograph due to its pose, but I really like him and I’m glad I was able to pick one up:

Earlier this week I chanced across the Trades section of the Datasphere forums, and spotted a post by a guy from London who was selling off some Aleph – I decided to pick up the Myrmidons, Myrmidon Officer and HMG Remote from him. They arrived on Friday and I’ve already been able to re-base them onto my own bases, as well as tweak some of their posing a little so that I’m happier with them:

The biggest amount of work I had to do was on the Officer, who normally stands on a rock (most likely to give her some height as otherwise she’s a little shorter than the Myrmidons she’s in charge of). However, rocks look out of place on my bases, so I clipped the rock away and bent her lower legs so they’d be level. She’s different enough from the others to stand out.
Once my Aleph are finished off, I plan to start a third (yes, third!) faction – the alien Tohaa! Darren’s been kind enough to give me a spare Aelis Keesan model that he’s had left over from his Dire Foes set, and I’ve been toying around in Photoshop with various colour scheme ideas for her, but I won’t actually get around to testing them until later in the year:

Your Aleph are looking great! It will be cool to see how the addition of the Greek style Aleph change your army tactics. I may need some MSV2/3 to deal with the ODD!:)
