It’s mostly been a building week for me this week – I did manage to splash a bit of paint on the Clipsos, but for the most part I’ve been putting together new additions to the pile of shame (which is now at a whopping 39 models… Whoops!)
First off, I’ve been wanting to get a proper Posthuman Mk2 Hacker in my hands for a while now – in the past I’ve been proxying her with a Dasyu Hacker, but I felt it was time to have a ‘proper’ model, so using Cho Konnit’s Split Box service (note, due to a bug somewhere on their forum servers, the first time you click that link might take you to a rather, er, questionable site – just close the window down and click it again and it should be alright) I ordered myself the spare Posthuman Mk2 he had in stock. Along with the Boarding Shotgun that comes with the Aleph Spec Ops figure, I was all set to convert her. I’m certainly not the first person to attempt this conversion, and I’d already seen a number of others out there on the internet, but it does make you wonder why Corvus Belli didn’t just package a seperate arm with the Shotgun like they have done with a few other models in their range.
Relatively easy – I did attempt to pin it, but my drill bits are just a tad too big and one slippage into my finger was enough for me to give up on it and just glue it – there are a couple of contact points and it’s reinforced with Green Stuff in the join so it should hold, I hope!
Next up were the additions to my Tohaa – the new Igao and Kaeltars – nothing much to say about these, other than I love how adorable the Symbiomates and Symbiobombs are – a few members of my gaming group are less keen but I like them!
Perspective has made those Symbios look massive! Rest assured they’re not that big in comparison with the other models in the range!
My friend Darren was kind enough to gift me a Kotail with Spitfire that he’d won at a recent event, and since I already have one, I decided I’d try and convert this one a little – I have a tendency to use a Kotail Forward Observer, who is armed with a single Combi Rifle. Usually I just use the Spitfire versoin and be done with it since the dual combi version I’ve got wasn’t finished at the time. A little bit of clipping and filing was all that was needed to make the weapon look a little more, er, shotgun like. Not quite what I was going for but luckily there’s a Kotail with Boarding Shotgun profile who he could be used for!
In terms of painting things up, I want to try and keep going with the Tohaa as best I can since I’ve got a couple of events coming up and want to take the them along. This particular guy will be representing Le Muet until I can get one of my own, then after that he’ll be an actual Clipsos Sniper. I’ve not tried a Sniper in my Tohaa that doesn’t have an MSV of some kind yet – I’ve got this guy and the Kamael Sniper who haven’t seen the table yet, so perhaps I’ll try and surprise my opponents with them at some stage.
That’s it for this post – next time I hope to have completed the Clipsos and have made a start on something else Tohaa!
