The Pile of Shame continues to shrink this week, with three more models completed!
Having taken a break from painting Tohaa for a while, it was nice to go back to them with the Kosuil. Nothing terribly out of the ordinary with this one. I gave his coat a highlight using Coal Black blended up to Kabalite Green:

I also worked on another Ariadna figure, the Intel Spec Ops. I really like this model, and so I’d been itching to get some paint on him – I think with the Gas Mask head option he fits in really well with the rest of my USAriadna:

Finally for today’s hobby-related news, here’s a second Celestial Guard, this time with a Boarding Shotgun:

The usual Yu Jing recipe for her – I’m really pleased with the way it’s turning out, and I’m getting lots of positive feedback on it, so I can’t wait to translate it across to some of the more impressive models in the range (especially the new Su Jian!).
The third Celestial Guard is also work in progress, and here he is:

It’s not all been painting for me – I’ve also been able to get in some gaming in recent weeks, with a couple of games in using the 20×20 Mission System, which I’m pleased to say is a welcome departure from ITS, which is pretty much all we played last year (The fact that we had lists including models we wouldn’t have dreamed of taking in a tournament was testament to this fact). I also kicked off a Heroes of the Aturi Cluster campaign with a few friends, which we had a lot of fun with and can’t wait to continue. Last night also saw me take my Dreadball Robots out in their first proper outing, and while I lost the game (due to an epic last-turn play by Darren), I had a blast with their transforming shenanigans, and can’t wait to play some more – it’s a great little side game when you’re looking for something a bit less serious but still want that dice-rolling fix!
Great painting as usual, looking forward to seeing a squad pic of all the Celestial Guard when they are done.
Thanks! I’ll be sure to do just that! 🙂
