Brushwork – Sunday 4th September

Hac Tao and Yuriko Oda - click to enlarge

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve written a post! I’ve not been quiet in terms of painting, however, so this post won’t be too short on pictorial content at least! This one’s a bit of a photodump, so bear with me and I’ll have something more wordy for the future! I’ve got a tournament coming up so I’ll be documenting that and any thoughts during the lead-up to the event.

I’ll start by showing my Marauder, who I procrastinated over for a while before finally finishing – just something about all those brown armour plates really didn’t grab me too much when he was in the paint-queue. Still, I’m glad he’s done!

With him done, I decided to carry on with USAriadna models and so did the Foxtrot next. He was a nice change as he was predominantly fatigues and not a lot of armour plating:

And here’s the pair of them together:

After finishing these two I was desperate to get onto something a little brighter, and with my copy of Red Veil tantalisingly close to arriving, I decided to grab a couple of Yu Jing models off of the shelf to paint up. I started with the Hac Tao:

I just love the pose of this model, stalking fowards looking for his next victim!

With him done, I moved onto Yuriko Oda, who would have a sword similar to the Pheasant Rank agent:

And like the two USAriadnans above, here’s a shot of the pair – just look how much bigger that Heavy Infantry is!

Finally for this post, here’s what’s coming next – my CSU, who’s been sat unpainted since Operation Icestorm released (almost 2 years ago now!).

Because she’s a classy lady, I’ve decided to paint tights on her legs rather than have them bare like she’s on a night out. I’ve got a bit of correction work to do on the rear of her leg though as the thin line I’ve tried to paint to simulate the seams is a bit messy.

Right, that’s it from me for this post! Next time I’ll show the CSU all finished, plus whatever else from my Pile of Shame I decide to paint!

  1. Loving the Hac Tao, your light colour scheme actually does alot more justice to the sculpt than the default dark schemes. He looks so cool and calm and collected. He kind of reminds me of the Cerberus Troops from Mass Effect actually!

    1. Thank you for the kind words! A few people have said there’s a definite Mass Effect vibe coming from these guys – a happy accident, but completely unintentional! (unlike my Tohaa, whose colours were deliberately based on Garrus Vakarian’s colours!)
